It's a six

I've been a little busy the past few days so it took me a little longer than expected to get this finished. Ryan absolutely loves this layout..... because it's all about him, and it's a little different to what I normally do! This time I decided to take my inspiration from one of Ryan's comic books and the papers and lettering I used came out of Pip's February Double Up pack.
Here it is a little closer
I took the kids out last night to a puppet show at the Civic Theatre, bit of a late night for everyone so feeling a bit tired today as are the kids I'm sure!
I'm having visitors on the weekend so I've got a few things to get ready including keeping up with all my washing...... well I did that and now it's not just raining ..... it's pouring!....... Hmmmmmm.
Thanks for visiting

Can't find a hat.........

........ why not wear a lamp shade!!!!
So here's Megan perched up on the lounge after her bath watching Sponge Bob Square Pants looking like she had just come in from working in some rice paddy........... What are you doing? I asked....... Nothing she replied......... Then why have you got a lamp shade on your head?....... To keep the sun off my head mum don't you know anything!....... obviously not!

I'm working on a fun layout using my February Double Up pack hope to have it finished soon.
Bye for now

Guilty!!!!

NAUGHTY ALFIE!!! I was on the phone this morning discussing with my mother how well behaved our little Alfie is........ mum's new dog is a little bit naughty. I got off the phone walked outside and found this.......... I mean it's not as if he is shut in a tiny yard all day being ignored and bored out of his brain, he has 1000 acres to run around and explore if he wants........ Noooooo that makes tooooo much sense I'm just going to rip mum's plants out of their pots instead. Grrrrrrrr
Ryan never took much interest in cricket in previous years but this year he can't get enough of it! He knows all the players and if he isn't watching WWE Wrestling he's watching all the games or should I say Test Matches, One Day Games and 20 20 Games. Every afternoon we play cricket and I thought it was about time I took a picture of his batting style....... I can feel a layout coming on.

123 Challenge

Ok that's it no more scrapbooking for the rest of the weekend...... as you can tell yes I did get distracted when cleaning up my scrap area the other day. This layout I made specificaly for the February 123 Challenge, I had to have a number in the title, use a transparency and strip journaling, I think it all came together rather well. If you want to checkout all the other entries just follow the link in my side bar.

What ever

I think it's time that I made myself stop all the scrapbooking and go and do some housework...... or maybe not! I just can't help myself lately especially when I get a box of new goodies in the post like the February Kit from Sissey, it was full of beautiful papers and chipboard from the Scenic Route Loveland range, Heidi Swapp Lettering and much much more..... all of which I intend to get stuck into over the next few weeks!
Here is a layout I made today..... very simple not much journaling because I think the expression on Megan's face says it all!
Here are the Heart Flowers a bit closer....
Ok I'm seriously going into clean up my scrap area now, and if and that's a very big if I can get through that without getting side tracked I might do some other cleaning.......yay!
gotta go

Alfie's first layout

Here is a cute layout of Alfie our new little dog. Once again I used papers from October Afternoon and I think the papers and matching die-cuts make it all too easy to create a great page, just perfect for Alfie's first layout.
Here it is a little closer
Well I've got to go now because my new Sissey Scrapbooking Kit arrived this morning and I want to go and play with it, bye for now.

October Afternoon

One of those white pizza boxes I'd been waiting on arrived this morning...... Yay!!. I had already planned on starting a mini book today using some other nice papers in my stash but when my order arrived there was no question about which papers I was going to use. These papers are from October Afternoon - Country Fair range, they are simply delish and I can't wait to get stuck into a few more layouts using them.
Here is the title page on my mini album a bit closer.
Thanks for looking

Mmmmmmm........

....Chocolate Milk! How's this for a milk moustache..... well done I say Megan, couldn't have done any better if I tried. This is what happens when you let a 5 year old mix her own chocolate quik drink..... she only used half the tin.

Another layout to share..... just a single page this time.

Here it is a little closer.
Here is my little owl friend Olivia again...... I love these clear stamps from Sassafras Lass they give a cute touch to any layout.
Well Megan did like the skirt I made for her on Friday can't you tell.......
Here she is trying a few of her dance moves before we head off to ballet.
That is about all I have time for now.... I have to go and make some muffins for the kids lunch boxes, this is something I do every Sunday just so they have something home-made and fresh to take, mind you I have to hide them as soon as they are out of the oven because they disappear real quick!

Totally unexpected!

Take a look at what my husband brought home for me last night...... what a surprise! I can't even remember the last time I received something for Valentines Day so I really didn't expect to get a beautiful bunch of flowers like this......
Megan starts ballet again tomorrow and all the little girls in her group wear cute little fairy outfits ( not the wings ) bought from Target, so I bought her one and she didn't like it! Grrrrrrr! So out with the sewing machine this morning to make a little fairy skirt, she hasn't seen it yet so I hope she likes it.
That's all for now

Introducing.......

Alfie, the newest member of our family. After Phoebe died a few months ago it felt very strange not having a little dog to greet us at the door, and the kids really missed not having a little friend to play with. My search started in local newspapers and putting the word out that we were looking for a dog, someone suggested that I try the RSPCA so I did and after talking with the president of the RSPCA in our local area over the course of a week or so she found Alfie for us. I had no idea the adoption process was so strict..... filling out forms and answering 50 questions, I suppose they are just making sure that the dog involved isn't going to be dumped again! The process isn't exactly cheap either but well worth it.
So here he is........
We do know that he has Jack Russell in him as for the rest who knows, who cares anyway we have a new family member and that's all that matters!
He is the best little dog for the kids to play with..... they just love him to bits, if Megan is on the trampoline so is Alfie, he is just so full of life it's exhausting, almost like having another child around the house. He loves to play with our cat Lulu as well..... so funny to watch. Doesn't get on with the chooks so well.... he thinks they're dinner!
Today is the first day I haven't had to go to town to get Megan from school, I had only been letting her catch the bus to town in the morning and I would pick her up of an afternoon, but after a few days of going into town of an afternoon and watching her get on the bus then following the bus home it's time to let her go alone..... without me watching that is, she still has Ryan with her every step of he way to make sure she is ok.
Waiting on one or two of those white Pizza boxes to arrive with lots of new goodies so I can do a few more layouts, I love getting new products to play with.... don't you!

No more cricket!

I've just about had enough of the cricket on the TV at our house, Mark and Ryan can sit up and watch it for hours and it drives Megan and myself nuts! So the other night when you know who was watching it I went shopping ...... again! It's way too easy isn't it? Shopping on-line that is, I just love getting a pizza box in the mail a few days later jam packed with all those goodies.

Here is a layout using some photos I've been sitting on for a while waiting for the right papers. You know a few years ago when we all bought MM foam stamps used them once and put them away....... well I found some in my stash that hadn't even been used, I think I'll use them more often now as I think it looks all right! Here is the MM foam stamp.

These chipboard flowers were all joined so I cut them up to stretch them across both pages instead of just one, I got this out of a Sissey Pack I bought a few months ago...... cute isn't it!

It's mine not your's!

When I sent my wish list off to santa last year I jokingly wished for a ride on lawn mower as our lawn is about 1.5 acres, I just couldn't do it with our poor little old push mower which had seen better days, we used to put it off for as long as we could. Well my wish came true and now it's a race to see who can get on the mower first, I remember I mowed the lawn whether it needed it or not for the first 5 days straight it was so much fun, what used to take me around 4 hours I can now do in about 45 minutes to an hour....... wooooohoooooo!!!
Here is a sneak peak of something I've been working on today while my husband got to mow the lawn, all I have to do now is journal and it's done!
Hope you are having a super weekend.

Another School Layout

You might be thinking that I've been really busy scrapbooking in the last week but this layout is one I did around 3 weeks ago during the holidays.
Here it is a little closer.
Back later, I'm going to go help out at school.

Lovin this

You know those 73 photos I took of Megan's first day at school...... well I picked out a few of my favourites (really hard to do as I liked them all) and came up with this layout.
Here are the little chipboard hearts I made a little closer.
Megan took to school like a duck to water I'm so proud. I was a bit worried about her yesterday as the school had way too may kindergarten enrolments for three classes (the max is 20) they needed to create a fourth and Megan was one of the children going into this class, I was worried because she was already settled and a new class with a new teacher might upset her. Not the case.... she came home yesterday and told me about all the great stuff she did in her new class and all about her new teacher. What a relief!!!!

That's all for now talk soon

Cute Card

I loved the (note)worthey papers so much that once I finished my layout I used the scraps to make this cute little card last night.
bye for now

February 5, 2008

Rainy Day

It's way too wet to do anything outside today it is pouring or as Megan would say "God is having a shower Mum", so I made myself busy by creating this layout using some really pretty products like the beautiful paper from the (note)worthy range and glitter stickers from K&Co, and to give the Heidi Swapp chipboard hearts a bit of sparklle I covered them in KindyGlitz all up I think it turned out quite well.
Here it is a little closer.
Yesterday afternoon there was a storm brewing in the distance right about school pick up time.... don't you just love that!!!!!
That is all I have for now bye.

New Layout

This is how I spent my afternoon as it was way too hot to go outside, nice and bright isn't it! I have been waiting for the right layout to use my Scrapworks Shimmer Shapes.... so cute!
Here they are a bit closer, they really do shine I just couldn't get my camera to capture it as I wanted.

Seeya later
Ryan and Megan had their first tennis lesson today, thankfully they both had a great time and want to go back because I had already signed them up.

Here is a layout I have been meaning to share for a while now I am so in love with the Heidi Swapp Damask stickers they add a great touch to any layout, at first I wasn't sure about anything with glitter on it but as soon as I tried these MM Chipboard letters I was hooked.
Here it is a little closer.
I know I have posted quite a bit in the last 24 hours but I do have a lot to catch up on.
Bye for now

Sad News

Now I'm going back to last November Election Day to be exact it was late in the evening and we were driving down to the cattle yards to draught off a few cows, Phoebe knew she wasn't to follow but she thought she'd try anyway. Phoebe thought she could run behind the ute just as she had done many times before only this time things didn't work out and she was accidently run over. Mark took her straight into the vet to try and save her while I stayed home with the kids and cried many tears, I thought for sure that she would be put-down right there and then. To our surprise Mark came home and said that the vet would xray her in the morning when the swelling went down, it turned out that her back wasn't broken but her pelvis was crushed. Our very kind and understanding vet told us that dogs can come back from injuries like this all you have to do is keep them confined for 6 weeks. As the next few days went by with her on a drip to keep her hydraited and comfortable we totally expected that by Wednesday we would be taking her home, this was not to be the case and things had worsened, it was time to make a very difficult decission the best one for Phoebe.
Phoebe was part of our family for just over 10 years we all miss her very much and even as I am telling you this now in February typing this post brings tears to my eyes.

I'm Back

I know it's been a while I just got busy with Kids Christmas and holidays, I have lots to report and a few new layouts to share.

The biggest news I have to share is that my daughter Megan started Big School yesterday I was so proud of her. She insisted of catching the bus to town so I just followed behind in the car to make sure she got off OK, once she got to school she said "seeya Mum I'm going to my classroom" and off she went, no tears nothing I had to follow her to her classroom just to get a kiss goodbye.

I must admitt I was a bit camera happy 73 photos in all were taken, I took photos of them waiting for the bus, getting on the bus the bus driving away and it goes on and on.
The only way I could get Ryan to stand still in this picture and smile was to bribe him with the promise of a McDonald's treat after school....... sad I know.

That's all I have time for now as I have two very tired children to put to bed after another big day of school.

bye for now
