Catch up.

Going back to last Thursday afternoon when I had just gotten home with the kids from school I could hear Alfie our dog barking ( nothing unusual ) then I caught a glimpse of one of these striking at him.........
Please note that I didn't stop to take a picture of it.......although I did think about it!!!! This is a picture I found on the Internet. Trying not to alert the kids I got them in the house and grabbed the phone to call my husband........If the snake was smaller and less agitated I would have attempted to get it myself but Alfie had stirred it up so much that it was really pissed off and the shovel I was using only had a short handle........the snake itself ( Brown Snake one of Australia's deadliest snakes ) was approximately 4 feet long. I kept guard over it for about 10 minutes and it finally dived into a hole in the ground.......only 2 minutes before Mark had driven all the way from town to get it!!!!
On Sunday afternoon when I was going over to the shed to get the lawn mower out it was there again basking in the glorious sun.........well, it won't be basking in the sun anymore thank goodness........a shovel fixed that one. Now I know some of you are thinking how could you kill a snake when they are supposed to be protected.......let me tell you my children are a protected species as well and I will do what I have to to keep them safe!!!
On Friday afternoon we went to Goondiwindi for a christening which was to be held on Saturday....... had a fantastic time catching up with friends and even bumped into a few familiar faces down town.
Here we are waiting for all the guests to gather outside the church........you might notice that there aren't many pictures of Ryan.......every time I went to take a picture he went all grumpy and put his head down......Megan was very obliging as usual.
Here I am with my little princess.......
Here she is again....
We had a lazy Sunday morning at the motel and the kids had a bit of fun in the spa.
And here is the man we all went to see......only 8 weeks old cute huh! Richard took Mark for a little ride on his bike after breakfast....... the bike looks a little small in this picture but trust me it's not Richard and Mark are just two really big men!!!
Well that's it for today.......it's school holidays here and I thought I might take the kids to Tamworth for the day.
I forgot to say.....I am going to see my sister and her beautiful family for the first time since February 2004 next week....really looking forward to that!
Enjoy your day

New layout

Today I was supposed to go to town and scrapbook with a few friends but because my husband was so helpful with the washing on Sunday and the fact that it's been raining ever since I had to stay home and put everything through the drier. I did manage to scrap in between loads and this is what I came up with...........this is my entry for this months 123 Challenge.

Helpful Husband!!!

Has anyone out there got a husband as helpful as mine?. We've had a few really busy days with soccer finals and presentation and birthday parties.....so yesterday my washing pile had built up so much that before I walked out the door yesterday to take Megan to a party that I asked if he could hang the washing out and put a load on......not too much to ask I thought. When I arrived home at around 2.30 pm I noticed that the clothes line was jam packed with washing.....boy, he must have been busy to get all that washing done I thought to myself, now I can relax knowing I don't have to spend the rest of the day washing and so on. Come about 6 pm I thought I should get the washing off the line.......I put a couple of things in the basket and went to get my jeans off the line when I noticed a dirty little mark on them.......Hmmmmm that's funny this mark should have come off in the wash......then I inspected a few other items of clothing hanging on the line......NOT ONE ITEM HAD BEEN WASHED!!!! The whole clothes line was full of dirty washing!!!!! How's that for a helpful husband!!!
A friend said I should have left it on the line and just thrown some washing powder at it..........not a bad idea with all the rain we've had this afternoon.

You know when you're taking a few pictures and you just know ....yeah that's the one..... this one is going to be really nice.....well, this is one of those pictures.......a candid shot of my gorgeous son Ryan.
On to my battle to get Megan into see a doctor.......I have made numerous attempts to get her in to see someone........the receptionist told me on Friday that next week was now totally booked out and I would be lucky to get her in the following week......I won't tell you what I was thinking but you can probably guess it started with the letter "F"......what am I supposed to do......If the kid needs to see a doctor the kid needs to see a "F" doctor!!!!! I'm going to give it another couple of days just to see if the over the counter treatment from the chemist works and if it doesn't look like it's starting to clear up I'm going to go and sit in the surgery waiting room until someone will see her.......I might even do it with her shirt off so they can all see the spots, this will scare a few patients and maybe get her in quicker!!!

OK, and just for something really nice here is my favourite snack at the moment.......Hopefully I'll get some scrapbooking done tomorrow.......it's been a while!

What to do?

A few days ago Megan woke up with a little pimple type thing on her shoulder..........today Megan woke up with about 30 spots on her belly and back...........she is all up to date with her vaccinations I've even had her in for a few extra vaccinations. So when I tried to get an appointment at the Doctors surgery today......not going to happen all booked out sorry.......I was told to go and visit the hospital and see a doctor. So off we go prepared to sit and wait a few hours... the nurse said without even looking that it sounded like measles.....great, just great. When I eventually did get her into see a doctor I couldn't understand a word she said.......truly I have nothing against foreign doctors but please if you are going to practice in an English speaking country please speak English!!! I said to the lovely doctor ( and she was really nice ) contagious contagious and she shook her head "NO NOT CONTAGIOUS". She had a few other things to say about the spots......I heard the words "not measles"......but the rest was just gibberish........eventually I was handed a script for antibiotics and some cream. This afternoon Megan has a few more spots she isn't feeling sick at all and has no temperature......so I had another attempt at getting an appointment at the doctors surgery.......sorry the next available appointment will be a week away.......I don't want to go back to the hospital and get that very nice non-English speaking doctor again......I want our English speaking family doctor is that too much to ask!!!! I am one very frustrated mummy today!!!! Arrrgghhh!!!

I wanted to share a picture of the two floor cushions I made for the kids.....I made the pink one ages ago and it has taken me until last week to make the green one for Ryan......the kids love them!!

Have a look....

..... at what I just found in my sink!!! I was just putting a few cups in the dishwasher and getting ready to make dinner when this climbed out of a cup. I pretty sure it was brought inside on something Megan brought in earlier which had dirt on it......... I could hear her washing something in the sink and didn't think anything of it..........isn't she a lucky little girl!
This picture makes me smile........ready to pounce!!

What was I thinking?

This morning I woke at around 5 am couldn't get back to sleep.....so as usual I got up made a coffee checked emails and did a bit of blog surfing....... I had a thought about how nice a day it was going to be......you know being spring and all.......Hmmmmm time to take charge and maybe lose a little weight so I can fit into some summer clothing. Hmmm how am I going to do this..... walk down the end of my driveway and back ( 1 kilometer ) naaa that's to boring and lonely......I know I'll get Jacki and Jodi and we'll all go walking together in town......what a great idea!!!! Well, 8 kilometers later I'm really starting to feel just how old I am......things don't work the way they used to.......I'm in need of a grease and oil change I think. So now I'm sitting here in front of my computer wondering if I'm going to be able to get up out of the chair to go and get the kids off the bus........I am having visions of not being able to get out of bed in the morning because my legs won't work....Ouch!! But hey we've organised to do it all again......isn't that great news!!!

Isn't this pretty......

Another Layout

Here we go my second layout for the week.......Flippin Out.......I've had these pictures since January......slack huh!
Why bother!!! There I was sporting my new hair ( I had a cut and colour the day before ) heading out to have lunch with Jacki and Jodi for my birthday.........raining!...... there goes the perfectly straight hair, now it's all wind blown and fuzzy....... I grabbed Megan's yard hat to try and keep as much rain off as possible.......yeah that worked......all it did was give me bad hat hair! Now I have fuzzy wind-blown hat hair......that worked well didn't it!!Bad hair or not lunch with Jodi and Jacki was really nice..........thanks for the pandora's girls.

Take a look at this..........it's an egg without a shell...........weird huh!!!
I told Mark earlier today that I was getting a picture of him with the kids for Fathers Day........just to give him plenty of warning so when it happened it wouldn't come as quite a shock that he was going to have his picture taken.......do all men have a phobia of getting their phot taken..... or is it just Mark?......when I did line them up he gave me all of 10 seconds to get the shot I wanted, and out of 5 shots this is the only one that sorta worked.
Here is Megan swinging from a rope attached to a very big tree........woooooohoooooo!!!
Ryan gave it a go as well...........wooooohooooooo!!!
These make me smile........
Hope you all had a great weekend.

Layout to share

These are the pictures I took of Megan on Sunday out in the rain.......I knew straight away that they would go perfectly with the papers in my new Cut and Paste Double Up pack......the only thing I used on this layout that wasn't in the kit is a little brown paint and the Kraft Cardstock.......this seems to be the base colour I use on everything lately........I think it all came together really well.
Here it is a little closer....Now excuse me while I go and snack on a few of these......

Thanks for visiting.

Whinge for the day!!!

This morning I went to the shops looking for some new undies for my six year old daughter Megan.........I was not impressed by what I saw and I found it really hard to find girls pants which didn't have some slutty slogan across them. My daughter is only six and I can tell you I will never put her in something which says "saucy" across the bottom.......Oh and that's not all, most of these questionable undies had matching lacey bras...... for six year olds!
Call me old fashioned but I think kids should be kids....... dressing babies ( and that's what they are ) with sexy slogans on their clothing should stop......I mean for who's benefit is the slogan because the kids don't know what they mean......or do they?

Now how about this guy.....Wes Carr.........I hope you all voted today to help him get into the top 12 on this years Australian Idol......

Now I must go and get a few things done.....talk soon

Lots of photos to share

Our weekend began with tennis lessons for both Ryan and Megan.....Ryan is going really well....Megan, well she'll get there eventually.
How does someone get their hair caught in a tennis net?Ryan ready for action.
Friday arvo we called in to Vicki's for a coffee.....didn't leave until 9pm.....we decided to have a pizza night washed down with a few bottles of wine. Megan found a guitar and pretended she was Colbi Caillat...... she pleaded with me to buy her a guitar of her own....mmmmm still thinking!!
Here is a picture of Ryan and his footy.......it must be spring because if you look hard you can see a few green leaves opening up on the tree.
Yesterday it rained all day.....it wasn't cold just wet so Megan and I did a few jobs outside in the rain. Before we went out I took a really nice picture of her sweet little face.
This is the picture I'm most excited about.......Megan all wet out in the rain...... I love it because it is just so Megan........always the first to jump in the puddle or sit down in the mud...... shortly before this I found her with her head stuck under the overflow on one of the tanks having some sort of shower. I love this kid !!!
I have received this award from both Jacki Janse Van Rensburg and Jodi.
So now I have to nominate blogs which I really love to visit and leave a message telling them of their nomination, so here goes...

Jacki - Just because she is so Monica.

Amanda - She is a clever scrapbooker.

Jodi - Always something exciting to share.

Tracey - Has a very busy life.

Melissa - One crafty Mumma

There that was really hard.........I visit many many blogs on a daily basis and I love them all, they are all very interesting for their own reason......so take a look at these few and say hello!!
And just for fun, this makes me smile........
