Big Weekend.

The kids and I went for a little drive on the weekend to catch up with some special friends in Goondiwindi, I wish we had more time to stay and chat but I had to be in Moree the next morning for Rugby.
This was the last carnival for the season, because temperatures had been up around 36 degrees on Saturday I was dressed in T-Shirt and sandals thinking that it was still going to be hot.........Huge mistake! It rained all day and it was terribly cold, Ryan didn't even notice he just wanted to get on with the game ( all 4 of them ).
I had to strip his clothes off him before he got in the car to go home because of all the mud, his white short aren't white anymore!!
Just for something different, on the way home I saw some weird clouds in the sky.
When we eventually got home late yesterday afternoon Megan was doing the gate for me and because I didn't take many pictures for the weekend I took this opportunity to get just a few while I still could.
She was in a good mood which meant I could take as many pictures as I wanted without her getting all cranky on me!
What a gorgeous Seven year old smile.
I have a few more good ones......maybe one day I could scrap them!
I hope you all had a great weekend.

Crazy about Buttons!

Remember this photo.........
Yep, that's only part of my button collection! I was in Tamworth shopping yesterday when I was inspired by a little bracelet I saw in a gorgeous shop. I went home and couldn't stop thinking about it, so I had to make some for myself......
I made the little pink one to fit Megan and the other two are mine......I wore my red and orange one all day today, I got some nice comments about it from the lovely ladies at tennis this afternoon which was really nice.
I bought a few extra special buttons down town today and I'm going to have a go at making a few more, I'll post a picture of them all next week some time.....after I finish the other little project I've got going!
I've had another huge day in town today, Ryan had to compete at the Zone Athletics Carnival.....he came third in the 100m finals so I'm not sure if he has to go on to Region, guess we'll find out over the next week or so.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, mine is going to be pretty busy as I we have alot on this weekend, I don't think I'll be getting behind that sewing machine.......bummer!
Thanks for stopping by.

Sneak Peek.

Today I got started on a little project I've been wanting to get stuck into.
Because I was a little short on time I only got a bit done, so I'm only going to give you a peek today and hopefully I'll be able to show the rest soon. Can you guess what it is?
These two colours would have to be my absolute favourite colour combination at the moment.....don't they look awesome together? What's your favourite colour combo?
Thanks for stopping by.

I finished this painting for a special little girl today, it's going to look super sweet hanging in her newly decorated bedroom.
Now I can pack all the paint away and pull out the sewing machine, this next project might be a little tricky......but I'm going to give it a go anyway!
This morning Miss Megan put on a big act about being sick, waited until Ryan was at school and we were home, then it was like someone flicked a switch and she was all better......I never saw anyone recover from severe stomach pains like that before!
I didn't let her get away with just watching cartoons all day, I made her do some homework and because her class is studying Ancient Egypt at the moment we did a bit of research of our own!!
Did you know.....Each block used to build a great pyramid weighed as much as two and a half adult elephants! And up to two million of these blocks could be used to make one pyramid. It could take as long as 20 years.
After all that excitement she wanted to paint with Mum.
I drew on some flowers like the one I was working on and let her go for it. I so love what she did with it.
After that she got a little excited and just kept adding, and adding, until there was no more paint left, the end result is still really cute I think.
Just to let you know, we still have a snail for a pet in our house!!!!
Thanks for visiting.

Cupcake Cuteness!!!

I baked a new batch of Pink Cupcake Goodness late yesterday. You might not be able to see in this photo but they have a pink pearl button in the centre of the icing......very pretty!
Tomorrow I'm working on a painting and once that is done I'm going to try a Tea Set......stay tuned for that one!
A quick thank you to all of my visitors who are leaving comments,.....they mean alot to me, Thanks.
Hope you all had a super weekend.

It's good being Seven.

Remember when you could sleep in on a Sunday morning, and when you eventually dragged yourself out of bed all you had to do was blurt out what you wanted to eat for breakfast on the way to the lounge to watch some cartoons. Then someone laid your clothes out on your bed for you....if they didn't you'd be quite happy to play in your Jim Jam's all day.

This is the life of my daughter, she has a huge social life too.....way bigger than mine!! Yesterday she had a play date with her little friend Tayla and brought a snail she found in their garden home for a pet!!! It's currently living in an old plastic strawberry punnett in her bedroom....Yay!!!
Today after a slow start she went to the pictures with her little friends Lucy and Savannah and came home with one of these.........
I loved having a toffee apple as a treat when I was a kid.
Seeing Megan with one today certainly brought back memories of my childhood, the toffee was always the best because more often than not the apple on the inside was not as good!
However this apple was super crunchy........and of course super sticky!!!
Sometimes I wish I could be seven again.
I baked a batch of choc chip cookies yesterday......super cute Huh?
I've got to go dig out some summer clothes even though it's still supposed to be winter here! I checked on the veranda a short time a go and it was 30 degrees......that's 86 degrees for those of you who are used to things in Fahrenheit. This I'm sure is the hottest winter on record, things are already dry and the lawn is struggling to survive.......if only it would rain!!!!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Today I got to meet Meg, I've known her for almost 18 months via blogs and emails, it feels really weird already knowing someone you're about to meet in person for the first time......does that make sense?
Meg was at a Scrapbooking Retreat over at Lake Keepit which isn't too far away from where I live, I'm totally kicking myself now that I didn't book in for this one as they all look as though they were having so much fun.......I could have stayed and chatted with Jodi, Meg and her friends for hours they were all so nice!
I asked the girls to put my name on the list for the retreat for next year......I'm totally going no matter what!
bye for now.

August 21, 2009

It's been a huge week for our family dealing with the whole AgQuip thing and having Mum and Dad visit, I'm so glad it's over.... well almost!

I did manage to catch up with Marianne which was wonderful, I've known her for some time now through our blogs and back when I lived in Gundy I met her a few times at Pip's scrapbooking shop Cut & Paste.....it was nice to sit and chat for a while face to face instead of through our blogs.
Look what I made this morning......
It's a little zip bag, big enough for your pencils, make-up or anything you want. I had so much fun making it I'm sure I'll make a few more when I have the time.........I have another painting to do for a customer first.
I have quite a few pictures I have taken over the past few days just haven't enough time to load them all, so keep checking back.
Thanks for visiting.

I need more time!

I haven't had time to get creative for the past few days and it's driving me nuts!!!

My entire weekend was taken up with Rugby, I was on canteen for the First Grade game on Saturday and we had to travel to Inverell for the Junior Rugby on Sunday.....so exhausting!!

Yesterday and today I've been giving my house a good scrub....nearly done I just need a bit more time. Mum and Dad are arriving this afternoon ( for Agquip ) and I know she doesn't care if there are sticky hand prints all over the doors and not all of the ironing is done but I always go into panic mode and clean from top to bottom......the house that is!!! I even washed Alfie ( our dog ) he smells way better than he did earlier, he has to look his best because mum is bringing her newly adopted doggie ( one of 3 ) along with her.
Because I didn't have time to take and edit any new pictures today I'm going to share a picture I took a few weeks ago.........sunset on my dining table.

Thanks for visiting.

Quick Share!

Here are the little goodies I completed on Thursday. I haven't shown Megan yet because she'll want them all for her tea parties......I'll be sure and make her another batch shortly. I've also got a few other goodies I'd like to get started on so make sure you visit again to see those!

Frosted Cookies with Sprinkles
6 for $20
Hot Pink Strawberries
6 for$10
Yesterday was a huge day for us, the kids had their school athletics carnival. Megan was so proud of herself......she got a few ribbons as did Ryan. I really enjoyed watching all the kids having a great time along with all the other parents.....it was a huge turnout! Some of the kids personalities really show when they run giving them a very distinctive running style......I saw kids that just wanted to skip and giggle to the kids that brought their own starting blocks, very serious!
After the sports carnival the kids went on to their weekly tennis lesson. I had all intentions of going home after the lesson had finished to get some much needed house work done, but hings went in a different direction! Next thing I know we end up at a friends house with a few bottles of wine, nibbles, lots of laughs and a great time..........it was 9.30pm when I got home with the kids! Oops! I know it was totally a spur of the moment thing but sometime they are the best times.
I'd love to show you some of the pictures from the sports carnival but I haven't had time to play with Photo Shop yet......they all need to be edited in some way!
Thanks for visiting

Busy Day.

Today I had a quick trip to Tamworth to grab a few things, I wrote myself a list which is unusual, this time I wanted to stick to only purchasing the items on the list rather than just getting anything I wanted...........hard to do I gotta say!

One thing which was on my list was this........

Remember a few weeks back when my computer died a sad and sudden death, well all of the software that was on it went as well so I treated myself to something bigger and hopefully better than what I had before! Can't wait to have a few spare hours/days to experiment with it!!

If anyone knows of any great and easy to follow tutorials on Photoshop please leave me a linky, I will be forever grateful!

Today I completed a few special orders for some felt goodies, I really want to share but taking pictures at night time doesn't work too well.......maybe tomorrow!!

bye for now.

"Not Me Monday"

Welcome to"No Not Me Monday" this all too funny blog carnival was created by MckMama, you can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week. This is way too funny you have gotta go and check some of these blogs out!!!

************
I wasn't the chick that thought she looked damn fine walking around town for a few hours only to discover that the zip on my jeans was undone.......No Not Me!

I certainly did not got to my favourite hairdresser to have a bit of work done and leave without paying......well at least that's what I thought!!!! Two hours later I went back so embarrassed to fix up my bill only to discover that I had already paid it.......I was so busy talking that I didn't notice what I had done.

No Not Me!

So much to do, not enough time!

Picked up some pretty fabric on the weekend, so in love with how bright and fresh they all look together and I can't wait to create something fabulous with them!
I have so many ideas on things I want to make at the moment it's driving me crazy.......sometimes I can't sleep at night! If only there were more hours in the day! It would help if I had a house cleaner as well.........I think I have a problem I am a create-oholic!!
Still working on a huge batch of Sock Savers 4 Big Kids over the next few days, then I might be able to get my teeth stuck into something else!

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend.

I wish I wish I wish!!!

I wish I had a creative space like this!
Isn't it amazing, so bright and organised (unlike my huge mess in the corner of a room ) this is a place in which I'd spend every waking moment letting my creative juice flow!!! Oh man, I'm so in love with this space!
The owner of this outrageously beautiful studio has her own blog called allsorts there are lost of goodies to look at so pay her a visit and be inspired.
I've been busy with my sewing machine this week.......stitching up my first wholesale order of Sock Savers 4 Kids.
This is only half of them, I have to make another batch up for Big Kids over the next few days. I'm super impressed with the way they all turned out.......what do you think?
Here is another one of those paintings I finally got around to completing this week.....perfect for a little girls room!
Did you happen to notice that I sat it on my new kitchen dresser to take the picture! See the enamel ware on the shelf above the painting, I found a full set of this stuff also including bread bins, biscuit tins and a few other bits and pieces packed away in a box..........I bought them 4 years ago and never got to put them on display because I didn't have a dresser to put them on! I knew I was meant to go to that auction last weekend for a reason!!
Take care and have a super weekend!!!

Caught in the moment!!!

On Saturday morning a friend and I went along to an auction.......just to have a look I swear. The smaller items were all priced and the larger items were to be auctioned at noon, at first when the gates opened there was a small resemblance to the boxing day sales at David Jones.......grab all you can and if someone has something you want growl and if they let it go it's yours!!! This was really amusing to watch, all I ended up with was a basket.....I love baskets, big baskets.

When the auction eventually started I didn't have any intentions of bidding on anything, well nothing big anyway........talk about caught up in the moment, I saw this big kitchen dresser and thought "oh yeah I kinda like that", next thing I know my hand was up in the air making a bid ( I think someone bumped me from behind and my hand went up ) and through no fault of my own I won!!!!
I am so happy with the way it looks in my house, only now I have to rearrange a great stack of things to make way for it......just the push I needed to clean out alot of unwanted stuff.
Gotta get back to my stuff....seeya!
