Autumn Leaves

I think that Autumn is my favourite time of year, I know it's almost over but I couldn't help but take a bit of inspiration from some of the beautifully coloured leaves scattered around our yard yesterday afternoon.
A perfect design for some journal covers. I've been trying my hardest to get them ready for the post today........not going to happen, coffee and op shopping with the girls doesn't help!
I really must stop getting distracted with new designs and op shopping for cool stuff, because I have deadlines for Handmade Living. Such an exciting project to be involved in......if you want to find out more go here.
Hope you are having a happy Monday!

My Journals are done!

I finished a few of my pear journals and I'm super pleased with the way they turned out, I found it a bit of a struggle packing these goodies up and not keeping atleast one for myself!
I've already cut out a few more covers to get started on over the weekend........one of which will BE MINE!!!
I think one of these would make the perfect gift for Mother's Day!

I wonder what I'm going to get for Mother's Day?

Have you visited the Shop Handmade blog lately? If you haven't you should!
I know I could do some serious damage on the card if I was let loose in this shop.
These divine hairbands and clips were made by Rosalind over at Grace Designs.
I have one of these stunnig tea towels hanging in my dining room, you can get one at Shop Handmade or on line over at Yardage Design. Nic has some beautiful new fabric prints all her own design....simply amazing! Oh, and it's her birthday!
There is alot going on around here at the moment, life just seems to get busier by the minute, I'm sure we'll come the other end of it all wondering how we ever managed.

How is your day going?

PS. I just changed some of the settings in Blogger and it's driving me mad, so this post is a bit wonky......this will take some getting used to!

They're multiplying!

I've had a real busy few days, a few big decisions were made and plenty of stitching was accomplished after a late night or two.

So with the success of these little fella's at Shop Handmade I had to produce a few more and by Sunday morning these big eyes were staring at me.....waiting for the rest of their friends to join them.
By Sunday night I had quite a collection of them.........my fingers were very sore from all the hand stitching, but hey don't they look great all together?
So first thing on Monday they were put in a box ready for their journey.
If you want to give one of them a home you'll find them at Shop Handmade real soon!
Today was also a big day for Megan.......
She started at a new school today......look how excited she is! I was a bit nervous throughout the day.....wondering how she was getting on. I was so relieved when I saw her this afternoon because she totally loved it and wants to go back tomorrow! Now I know we made the right decision.
Thanks for stopping by.

Shop Handmade

Congratulations to all the gorgeous girls at Shop Handamde.

Tiana, Tania, Rosalind, Jennie, Vanessa, Julie (owner), Rachel (owner), Lisa.
They have all done such a wonderful job setting up and displaying all of the gorgeous goodies from all the 90 or so designers.

I'm thinking that it would so be worth driving 8 hours just so I could go soak it all in and give the credit card a work out!!
I've been stitching up a storm trying to get some more goodies ready for the post on Monday.....my fingers hurt but the excitement I'm feeling about being a part of this fabulous shop far out weighs the pain!
There are a few blogs you have got to check out because they have pictures of all the goodies sold at Shop Handmade.
Go visit the official Shop Handmade Blog and say hello to Tania.
The lovely Jennie from Posie Patchwork has been so wonderful at keeping me updated, two of my little owl pincushions found a home at her house. Rosalind from Grace Designs has a beautiful blog also....... go check them all out and say hello.

Thanks for stopping by.

Busy Stitching!

Last week I decided to email for some information on a very exciting new shop which is about to open it's doors. I sat on the info for a couple of days and then decided to take the plunge and apply hoping it wasn't too late.

This is such an exciting new shop, it's going to be absolutely gorgeous and laden with some of the most beautiful handmade goodies.......I am so lucky to be part of it, I only wish I was going to be there for the Grand Opening this week!
If you want to see what it's all about head on over to the Shop Handmade blog and check it out! So as you could imagine last week was a little busy on the sewing front, my stocks were a little bit down so I had to get crackin'. Thankfully I made the post on Friday and some of my goodies will make it in time for the opening. Now I can just sew at my own pace and send goodies as they are needed......which will be often I'm hoping! This morning I took the kids to the pool for a bit of a swim, I took a magazine and a bit of stitching just in case I got sick of reading..............4 hours later the kids are still swimming, their feet and hands are all white and wrinkly and I have nearly finished stitching the front of one of my "ampersand cushions".
Yay for the pool, I think I might have to do that again next weekend.
