My Creative Space.

Well I gave the new glue gun a bit of a run yesterday afternoon, I'm not a big glue fan but I have to use it to secure the sticks inside my pears. I think I might go back to using my strong glue in a bottle, while it might take a little longer to dry than the glue gun glue at least I won't MELT THE SKIN OFF MY FINGERS in the process. That thing is seriously hot!!! Maybe I could find one with a temperature control......do they exist?

I bought a tray stand thingy last week so I could move my little creative mess around without much difficulty, and so my coffee table didn't become a makeshift craft table of an evening. It works really well for what I need and it's currently full of almost finished goodies bound for Shop Handmade.
My son Ryan is having a bit of a Creative Space this week. He is one of those kids that can pick up a recipe book and make what ever takes his fancy! He made these delicious cupcakes.
Then he decorated them in his own creative way...........pretty aren't they?
Although I think next time I might help him with the quantity of food colouring he uses in the icing........his teeth turned blue after eating this!
Hope you enjoyed my creative space this week? Head on over to Kootoyoo and say hello to Kirsty and all her creative space followers.

I love that your son bakes, that's fantastic.

As for the burnt finger issue, have you tried using something else to poke at the gun like a spare twig instead of your finger? Just a suggestion.

I was also thinking that it would be great if there was something out there like a soft thimble made out of the same type of material as the flexible bake ware you can buy... that does not melt.

I hear you on the glue gun issue! I can only use mine for 20 minutes at a time before it gets so hot I start to damage myself. Grab yourself some tweezers and a piece of cardboard to scrape off excess glue. Those pears are gorgeous by the way.

I very rarely use my glue gun for the very same reason. I always end up scorching my fingers.

I too use a tray for my bits and pieces to carry around the house. So much easier, and I don't lose stuff down the back of the couch :0

Sorry to hear i'm not alone in the burning finger tip stakes with my hot glue gun, i usually feel so clumsy & well, like i must be the only person in the world who burns themselves over & over.
Guess what, Julie let me buy the last set of LOVE pears from Shop Handmade, yippee, more Red Stitch over at my place, yippee!! The children think they are soooo fabulous, i concur, love Posie
