Campoven Weather!

The past few days have been a bit crazy trying to manage the kids and their activities ( at two different schools ) and trying to keep up with some Shop Handmade goodies. I managed to get another box ( the second this week ) in the post by lunch time Friday. Now I am going to devote the rest of my weekend to completing my Handmade Living submissions.......I've just set up a few props and I plan to have a bit of a photo shoot in the morning with some beautiful early morning light!

But for the past few hours we have been doing this......
It's perfect lamb shank weather, and what better way to cook it than on a campfire!
In about another hour when it's dark we are all going to sit around the fire, chat and cook marsh mallows on a stick........mine usually falls off the end of the stick into the fire. The kids are outside right now keeping an eye on things.......there is something about fires totally mesmerizing to the kids, they love having to go and collect logs in the Ute and help dad build the fire!
I remember doing this kind of thing many times growing up, mum wouldn't see us kids all weekend except for when we ran out of food to cook and we needed more supplies. I wonder if I can keep the fire going for the next three days? I think that's a plan!
Hope you are all having a lovely long weekend, stay safe and keep warm!
