My Creative Space.

Every little birdie needs somewhere to live, somewhere they can call their own and maybe start a family!
I saw a gorgeous nest used for display in a shop, I wanted it so badly, it was beautiful! So what is a girl to do......make her own!
I was sitting at my sewing machine on Saturday afternoon looking out the window watching little birds ( willie wag tails ) come and go from the old grapevine, I was thinking that I could go out and cut all the old vines off and tidy up a bit!
Then it occurred to me that those vines are quite flexible and might be easy enough to turn into my very own birds nest!
I had no idea how or what to do, but I struggled and persevered for a few hours until I had something which resembled a giant birds nest.
Putting it all together twisting and threading all that vine into place didn't do my hands any favours! Note to self........Wear gloves next time! I put it in a tree thinking I could leave it and some little feathered friends would make it their home!
Then I thought a little family of owls would look kinda cute all sitting together in the nest while waiting to be shipped off to Shop Handmade.
It's going to be hard parting with this lot because they are all so cute, especially this little pink and white one!
I think it would look so beautiful sitting up high in a little girls room. I'm definitely going to make some more, just like I'm going to make another nest next season when it's time for the vine to be cut back!
Thanks so much for visiting today. If you want to see many more creative space head on over to kootoyoo and say hello.

That's just fantastic! You've found another talent for sure! I think you've tapped into an age old tradition of basket making that has been sitting there waiting in your DNA. I'm now looking around my backyard, thinking, what could I use???

This has got to be my pick for the 'My Creative Space' sites I've visited so far today. I really love it and I think you're so clever for tackling it in the first place. Oh, I do have a question though, do owls actually make nests? Not that it matters a jot!
