My Creative Space.

I want to try and make a few tiny babushka dolls for my market stall in about a months time, I wanted to be able to just simply draw on the eyes, lips and cheeks. I was told that all I had to do was buy myself some of the new Copic pens and they will do the job beautifully.
Well I bought the colours I needed, but I don't think they do the job beautifully! They keep bleeding! Am I using the wrong type of pens? Maybe I'll have to stitch things on and forget it!
If anyone know what I should be using please let me know!
For more creative spaces head on over to Kootoyoo and say hello to Kirsty.
See you all tomorrow for day 8 of Blogtoberfest.

What a shame too! They are a great shape the eyes! Can you coat the fabric with a sealer first? I have some here if you want to experiment. Jo SOnia has a fabric sealer for painting. IF your coming into town let me know and i can get it to you.

I would try fabric paint. You'll obviously need a fine brush but I've seen some great work on Etsy with doll faces painted onto linen. The design can still be kept simple and you'll be able to mix the colours to the shades you want - perhaps you'd just need black, white and red.

Good luck, I have no idea but I know it can be frustrating to not be able to get what is in your head put out there...

I like your idea of stitching them on... could you hand stitch them on with an embroidery thread?

I'm not sure about the pens - perhaps stitches are best afterall... or even stitches over the colour?!?!

Could you do little stitches and then colour it - might hold the bleeding - no idea - looks time consuming all the same.

I think I'm going to scrap the whole idea of using the pens!

For the tiny dolls I'll try the paint and for the bigger ones I think I'll stitch it!
