Helpful Husband!!!

Has anyone out there got a husband as helpful as mine?. We've had a few really busy days with soccer finals and presentation and birthday parties.....so yesterday my washing pile had built up so much that before I walked out the door yesterday to take Megan to a party that I asked if he could hang the washing out and put a load on......not too much to ask I thought. When I arrived home at around 2.30 pm I noticed that the clothes line was jam packed with washing.....boy, he must have been busy to get all that washing done I thought to myself, now I can relax knowing I don't have to spend the rest of the day washing and so on. Come about 6 pm I thought I should get the washing off the line.......I put a couple of things in the basket and went to get my jeans off the line when I noticed a dirty little mark on them.......Hmmmmm that's funny this mark should have come off in the wash......then I inspected a few other items of clothing hanging on the line......NOT ONE ITEM HAD BEEN WASHED!!!! The whole clothes line was full of dirty washing!!!!! How's that for a helpful husband!!!
A friend said I should have left it on the line and just thrown some washing powder at it..........not a bad idea with all the rain we've had this afternoon.

You know when you're taking a few pictures and you just know ....yeah that's the one..... this one is going to be really nice.....well, this is one of those pictures.......a candid shot of my gorgeous son Ryan.
On to my battle to get Megan into see a doctor.......I have made numerous attempts to get her in to see someone........the receptionist told me on Friday that next week was now totally booked out and I would be lucky to get her in the following week......I won't tell you what I was thinking but you can probably guess it started with the letter "F"......what am I supposed to do......If the kid needs to see a doctor the kid needs to see a "F" doctor!!!!! I'm going to give it another couple of days just to see if the over the counter treatment from the chemist works and if it doesn't look like it's starting to clear up I'm going to go and sit in the surgery waiting room until someone will see her.......I might even do it with her shirt off so they can all see the spots, this will scare a few patients and maybe get her in quicker!!!

OK, and just for something really nice here is my favourite snack at the moment.......Hopefully I'll get some scrapbooking done tomorrow.......it's been a while!

PS. Cath if you are looking for my email addy go into my profile up in the side bar.

What to do?

A few days ago Megan woke up with a little pimple type thing on her shoulder..........today Megan woke up with about 30 spots on her belly and back...........she is all up to date with her vaccinations I've even had her in for a few extra vaccinations. So when I tried to get an appointment at the Doctors surgery today......not going to happen all booked out sorry.......I was told to go and visit the hospital and see a doctor. So off we go prepared to sit and wait a few hours... the nurse said without even looking that it sounded like measles.....great, just great. When I eventually did get her into see a doctor I couldn't understand a word she said.......truly I have nothing against foreign doctors but please if you are going to practice in an English speaking country please speak English!!! I said to the lovely doctor ( and she was really nice ) contagious contagious and she shook her head "NO NOT CONTAGIOUS". She had a few other things to say about the spots......I heard the words "not measles"......but the rest was just gibberish........eventually I was handed a script for antibiotics and some cream. This afternoon Megan has a few more spots she isn't feeling sick at all and has no temperature......so I had another attempt at getting an appointment at the doctors surgery.......sorry the next available appointment will be a week away.......I don't want to go back to the hospital and get that very nice non-English speaking doctor again......I want our English speaking family doctor is that too much to ask!!!! I am one very frustrated mummy today!!!! Arrrgghhh!!!

I wanted to share a picture of the two floor cushions I made for the kids.....I made the pink one ages ago and it has taken me until last week to make the green one for Ryan......the kids love them!!

Whinge for the day!!!

This morning I went to the shops looking for some new undies for my six year old daughter Megan.........I was not impressed by what I saw and I found it really hard to find girls pants which didn't have some slutty slogan across them. My daughter is only six and I can tell you I will never put her in something which says "saucy" across the bottom.......Oh and that's not all, most of these questionable undies had matching lacey bras...... for six year olds!
Call me old fashioned but I think kids should be kids....... dressing babies ( and that's what they are ) with sexy slogans on their clothing should stop......I mean for who's benefit is the slogan because the kids don't know what they mean......or do they?

Now how about this guy.....Wes Carr.........I hope you all voted today to help him get into the top 12 on this years Australian Idol......

Now I must go and get a few things done.....talk soon

Sooooo Over This.....

Blackouts that is.......yes that's right another day with no power ( well only 6 hours this time ) that means ...... no heating..... no water...... no electric blanket......NO MORNING COFFEE Arrrgghhh!!!!!......If you are really desperate you can go to one of the water tanks around the shed and fill up a cooking pot and boil it on the stove top ( It works because it's gas )...... so that's what I did. Mark did a runner and just went to town for breakfast...... said he needed to be out at Ag-Quip early to set up......yeah yeah. It was colder in my house than it was outside so the kids rugged up to keep warm..... and yes that is one of Megan's beanies that Ryan is wearing.
Because the only thing we could do in our house this morning was use the gas stove we made pancakes for breakfast........it was much warmer near the stove so I doubled the pancake mixture so I could stand there longer and keep warm......how sad is that!!!!We love pancakes at our house and I make them just about every Sunday for breakfast if I can and we all eat them differently........ I eat mine smothered in Maple Syrup with a bit of fruit, Ryan butters his and then sprinkles sugar (naughty I know) all over them and finally cuts them into precise little Pizza shapes.......Megan is totally unpredictable she does the above as well as this........
Do you remember when you were a kid making snowflake decorations out of paper by folding the paper a few times then making small cuts.......when the paper was opened up a beautiful snowflake pattern was revealed..........that was what Megan did with her pancakes today....I wasn't quite quick enough with the camera to get it all before she turned them into faces.
So that was all a bit of fun while we tried to keep warm........afterwards the kids just stayed outside and played, I was still in my pj's when the power came back on at 11.30.....just in time because we were all busting to watch Grant Hackett in the 1500m swim.
So, now that we have had our 3rd huge blackout in 2 weeks ( the other two blackouts went for the entire day ) I have alot of catching up to do like washing uniforms ready for school......Oh what fun!!!
